Local SEO

For businesses whose customers are nearby. We work on the signals that decide whether you appear when someone searches in the places you actually serve.

Why local search is its own problem

Local search runs on a different set of signals than national organic search. Proximity, profile completeness, review behavior and citation consistency all matter, and a site that ranks nationally can still be invisible in the map pack.

The practical consequence catches people out: you can do everything right on your website and still lose, because a large share of the decision happens before anyone reaches it.

The profile often matters more than the site

For a business with premises, a meaningful share of local searches end without a website visit at all. Someone finds you, reads a couple of reviews, taps call or directions, and is done. The profile was the entire experience.

That reframes where the work goes. A beautifully built site with a neglected profile is a common and expensive mistake, and it is usually the cheaper half to fix.

What the work involves

Google Business Profile

Primary and secondary categories, which do more to determine what you appear for than almost anything else. Service areas, attributes, hours including holidays, and photographs that are current rather than from the opening week.

Location and service area pages

Real pages about real coverage, written to be useful to someone in that place. Not a template with the town name swapped, which is the standard approach and the reason so many of these pages rank for nothing.

Citations and consistency

Name, address and phone consistent across the directories that actually feed local results, and the duplicates cleaned up. Unglamorous, and it is frequently what is holding a profile back.

Reviews as a process

Volume and recency are both visible in local results, which means reviews are not a one-off campaign. We help you build a routine for asking, and a habit of responding, because both are read by people and counted by machines.

Local measurement

Profile insights, call tracking that does not break name and phone consistency, and rankings measured from the places your customers actually search rather than from wherever your laptop is.

Multi-location businesses

Everything above multiplies, and two problems appear that single-location businesses never face.

The first is location pages competing with each other for the same terms, which happens whenever they are built from one template. The second is profile management at a scale where nobody owns it, so hours drift, categories sit wrong for years, and reviews go unanswered.

Both are process problems more than SEO problems, and they are solved by deciding who owns what before building anything.

What we will not claim

That we can move you up the map pack for a search happening outside your service area. Proximity to the searcher is a real factor and not one anybody optimizes away. What the work does is make sure you win the searches you are genuinely close enough to win, which is a smaller and more honest claim than the one usually made.

Local visibility is measurable. We will start by showing you what your customers currently see.
